HKS Thai Boxing has successfully gained Bolton'Club Mark'. However what does this mean for the club and members -
- Ensure that accrediting partners apply core common criteria to ensure that consistent good practice and minimum operating standards are delivered through all club development and accreditation schemes.
- To empower parent(s)/carer(s) when choosing a club for their children.
- To ensure that Clubmark accredited clubs are recognised through a common approach to branding.
- To provide a focus around which all organisations involved in sport can come together to support good practice in sports clubs working with children and young people.
Clubmark accreditation is awarded to clubs that comply with minimum operating standards in four areas:

A big well done to Gaz Turnbull, as he is the new Anglo/Irish thai boxing champion @ 63.5kg after beating Chris O'Rouke from Siam Warriors in County Cork, Ireland. The fight took place at the Liverpool Olympia Theatre on Sunday 18th May 2008 on the Gladiators show promoted by Gary Richards. Antony Turnbull was unlucky in his bid for a junior European title when he lost on a majority decision

Yesterday (Sunday 27th April 08) - The HKS Thai Boxing competition was an outstanding success, with Saul Atherton & Jimmy Heaton proving that HKS is undoubtedly top of its class in training champions.
Jimmy Heaton was top of the bill with an English title belt up for grabs. Jimmy won on points, which was a grueling fight to the end. Jimmy had the audience on their toes from the very start, with some amazing high kicks. His opponent showed relentless perseverance in attacking Jimmy, however this didn't prove effective.
A fantastic day, with some excellent fights! Please see the picture section.

Last night (Thursday 24th April 08) saw two of our rising stars feature in Channel 4's 'Cutting Edge' documentary. Kian & Miah were absolutely superb in their television debut. They are a credit to their parents, who were also shown in the documentary.
A recent press statement from Steve Reilly states:
" The Sport has a very good safety record where children are involved and no-one is ever forced to train or compete. "Children who take part in competitions are protected by body shields, shin guards, groin protectors & large gloves. "A referee controls the bouts and there is no head contact allowed. "Like any sport, safety for children is paramount to reduce any risk to an acceptable level. "The famalies of these kids want their children to be fit and healthy and safe from the bullying and violence in the streets of our society. "It is sad that the good aspects of the sport, discipline, respect, morals and responsibility were not featured as they play a large part."
